White Lace

Again, it was stinking hot yesterday here in Melbourne so since my seaside plans were cancel I had to go with my sister to run some errands before summer ends and I'm back to school. In the midst we stopped off at a little park and took these :)

I wore a white, cut-out back, lace skater dress from Sportsgirl, with some Myer block heels, my trusty black vintage Chanel bag and some vintage gold bangles. I also wore my new favourite lipstick from LancĂ´me too add a bit more colour to the outfit.

Though I don't have much of it, white is my favourite colour to wear in the summer. Its so light, graceful and pretty and just so easy to wear. I picked up this dress the other day after having a cute lunch date with a friend in Brighton and even though I wasn't even looking to buy anything I fell in love with it straight away! I do have a current obsession with skater dresses, and what I love about this one is that even with it's skater style it still looks so graceful on. I went off the lipsticks for a little while this summer, but after buying this one I'm back on them. It's a light but very bright red with a gold shimmer to it, love love love it!

Culture Shock

Indian clothing is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. The colour, the work, the flow gives it this vibrance that no other clothing can really capture. It's so unique and fun and I just adore it. The other night my family and I were invited to the wedding reception of a family friend and we all got dressed up in our best outfits for the night and took these pictures before heading off.

The outfits my sister and I are wearing were actually custom made for us last February for a wedding we had travelled overseas for. We actually chose the kind of designs we wanted and had them tailor made to our sizes. Though the designs didn't turn out exactly how we wanted, we were more than happy with what we got.

Both outfits were inspired by designs from a couture collection by a designer called Manish Malhotra. If you like Indian fashion at all he is definitely worth checking out!!

Anyway I thought I'd just share something different with you guys

Happy Monday

Choppin' Croppin' & Creatin'

As the days get sweatier, the clothes get harder to wear. Yesterday, lovely Melbourne was once again stinkingly hot so my sister and I took to our close by mountain ranges to get away from the heat and enjoy some scones and sticky date pudding for brunch. After eating too much and still not finishing our meal, a stop off for a photoshoot in the forest was almost obligatory.

Today I finally went back and took to my summer wardrobe and took to a whole outfit I actually made on my own!! Crops are always something that I thought I could never pull off but after chopping up an old vintage dress and restitching bits together I decided maybe I should try pull it off. My shorts are actually a pair of my Dad's old (and also humungous) jeans that I completely cut up and revamped to make these American Apparel inspired shorts. I LOVE the shape of them and how high they are and I must say, was quite impressed with myself when I finished.

I paired it with my aviators from Rubi shoes, nude pumps from Dotti and multicoloured cuff from Lovisa.

Fall In Summer

The weather here has been stinking hot lately and for some unknown reason I am continually turning to my Autumn wardrobe for outfits. Bizarre!

Anyway, as my love for leather grows so do the amount of outfits I put leather in. Today, my sister and I just took to a local street to snap a couple pictures, despite almost getting run over and getting multiple strange looks from people around, it was a great idea. I definitely have not been going out and taking advantage of this weather enough.

Today I wore an outfit that I really adore. It can be formal or casual or street it's just great. I'm wearing a burgundy tank top from Miss Shop, a leather skirt from Mossman, a Prada shoulder satchel along with some studded black wedges from Myer. I haven't always been the biggest fan of big earring but these rusty gold and yellow doorknockers from Lovisa are definitely a good purchase! They're big bold statements with a pop of my favorite summer colour, yellow and can be dressed up or down with so many outfits!

I'd lost my love for tube skirts this season but this leather one has really changed my mind. I definitely do not have the most flattering thighs but the leather just shapes them so great and fits so well. It's lining also makes it super comfortable so you can really wear it anywhere and everywhere!

I also got my nails done the other day and tried shellac nails for the first time. So far I am loving them! I got a summery colour done and it instantly makes any outfit feel that little more summer with it's bright colour pop hehe!

Celebrations

I am extremely sorry for my lack of posts lately, but things have been pretty full on for me these past few weeks so hopefully this will make up for it!

Christmas was great this year, we went over to a Greek friend's house for lunch which meant the food just kept on coming, hence the picture of our delicious Turkey for the year. I'm quite sure I looked pregnant by the end of that. Presents were great too, I snagged a bikini I had been wanting for a while, a pair of Mimco earrings and my parents bought me a cupcake decorating class. Then went over to my cousin's house for dinner (not that I could eat anything after lunch) to spend time with my adorable nephew.

I'm not sure if Boxing Day sales are as big worldwide as they are here, but when we went it was just absolute madness. I wasn't quite sure why since the sales weren't even that great, but there was no room to walk at all. Absolute madness!

After Christmas we spent a lot of time with my nephew and cousins and went away to beach town, and then by the 30th, it was my parents anniversary!
We went to a cute little Indian restaurant as a family, for dinner, and though it was nothing special I was quite fond of what I wore and got my sister to take a few pictures before dinner.

My nephew also decided to make a little appearance of his own, being the cheeky little munchkin he is.

I wore hot pink hi-low blouse from TEMT, a black flouncy skater skirt from Bardot (that's shape you unfortunately can't properly see in the lighting but it's very Cher Llloyd, I love it!), my trusty peep toe leather booties from Rubi, Mimco earrings and my Links of London Bracelet.

I hope you all had a great New Year's Eve, and Happy New Year! Can't wait to see what the rest of 2013 brings :)

Christmas Wishlist

Christmas is just hours away and I'm already shaking with excitement. The tree is up, packed with present underneath it for tomorrow morning! So, today I thought I'd share with you what I'm hoping to unwrap in the morning (it's never going to happen but a girl can dream right?)

I have been wanting heeled sneakers for months now but I can just never seem to come across the right ones or the right size. I saw Beyonce sporting a blue pair of these that looked amazing and have been wanting them ever since, though I do like the sand ones a lot more.

It has literally been a year since my obsession with leather began, and it all started with a pair of black leather leggings which I have been craving for yonks now but things just never seem to work out between the two of us :(
These Oasis ones I am just utterly in love with, their cut, their shape, the high rise, the matte yet glossy look of the faux leather it's all just perfect!

My sister found this maxi in Forever New the other day while we were Christmas shopping and if it weren't so out of my price range i would've bought it then and there. I love the fact that you can dress it up or down, with a leather jacket and sandals or big jewelled necklace and some heels. Love, Love, LOVE it!

Of course, the Jeffrey Campbell 'Lita'. I don't think you could ever go wrong with this shoe, I am just in complete love with it. This is the original, but the whole range, every colour, every fabric is just perfect, there is not a single 'Lita' I don't like. It's been around for a while now but I don't think it will really go 'out' of fashion. It's times like this when I wish my bank balance was never ending!

Finding the perfect jumpsuit is probably one of the hardest tasks in the universe. This ASOS one is always sold out which makes me so angry because of how badly I want it! Really any nicely fitted jumpsuit would do but I love how simple yet well fitted and cut this one is and its electric colour. Maybe it'll be a Christmas Miracle?

Tuxedo pants have really made their way into my heart in the last couple of months. These were a nice and affordable pair I spotted on Macy's put really anything similar would give you the relaxed yet sophisticated look. I love how many ways these pats can be dressed up or down and how many outfits you can make with them. Definitely wishing for these!!

Denim is my weakness what can I say. The studs, the collar, the shape, this Topshop dress is definitely not a need, but a serious want!!

Shorts, Shorts, Shorts. My shorts drawer is already overflowing so I am terrible for wanting more but these numbers just make me drool. The pink Danni short from Forever New is the first one, I feel terrible for wanting these so I'm not going to go into detail about them but they're great. Black leather shorts I have been waning for a long long time as well, but again, my luck with them is just terrible. I think if i ever got these I would never take them off. And last of all, the Korolina Floral print short from Forever New again. I can just picture all these outfits in my tea, someone stop me!!

This dress, I could just drool over. It's leather top (total giveaway for why I like it so much) and uniform skirt with the pockets and leather panels its just great! You could wear it anywhere and everywhere and its mix of pattern and texture it's really a genius dress. Let's pray that Santa's super generous this year!

And last (finally) but not least, this whole outfit Blake Lively is wearing I just adore. It is ridiculously perfect, from its simple yet graceful J Crew shirt, to the flouncy skirt with the colour popping blazer and statement booties AHHHH! I NEED this. STAT.

Anyway there is my long list of picks for this Christmas, and if I don't get a post in tomorrow, Merry Christmas to you all. I hope it's a fashionable one!

lots of love,
xx
